Appointments & Fees

The Children’s Doctor is a privately billing, appointment only general practice. It is our policy not to keep patients waiting for appointments. Occasionally the doctor may be running late due to an emergency or a patient requiring a longer consultation than expected. If you require an extended appointment (more than 15 minutes) to discuss a complex issue or multiple problems, please notify our receptionists when making an appointment.

The following fees for common consultations reflect our pricing as of 1st June 2023.

To help suit the needs of our patients we offer different type of consultations;

  • Standard appointment – 15 minutes (1 issue)
    The fee for a standard 15-minute appointment is $85 with a Medicare rebate of around $39.75
  • Long appointment – 30 minutes (new patients or >1 issue)
    The fee for a longer 30-minute appointment is $150 with a Medicare rebate of around $76.95. Please note that all New Patients attending the practice will require a 30-minute consult for their first visit.
  • Prolonged appointment – 45 minutes (complex)
    The fee for a longer 45-minute appointment is $200 with a Medicare rebate of around $113.30
    Prolonged consults can be arranged with the reception team for appointments that require longer than 30 minutes.

If any forms are required to be filled by the Paediatricians, there will also be a fee charged.

Consultations that may require a longer consultation could include; New patients, full comprehensive health checks, Women’s health checks, newborn health checks, care plans.

Payment is required at the end of the consultation. We accept EFTPOS, Mastercard & Visa payments only and are a cash free practice. Please note that all Medicare rebates will be processed for you on the day also.

This decision was not made lightly and reflects the rise in inflation and operational costs of maintaining a high standard of care, including staff wages, medical supplies, and technology upgrades.
